Our Pastor

Reverend Ryan David Wendt is the first son of Curtis and Elenita Wendt and was born to them on August 27th, 1974 in North Kansas City, Missouri; his baptismal birthday is September 6th, 1974. He has two younger brothers and a younger sister. His mother is a Lutheran grade school teacher at Holy Cross Lutheran in Kansas City; his father owns and operates an automotive repair shop near their home in Gladstone, Missouri.

Pastor Wendt is a life-long Lutheran who was baptized, confirmed, married, and most recently ordained, at his home congregation – Holy Cross, in Missouri. He graduated from Kansas City Lutheran H.S. in 1992; from Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska in 1998; and Concordia Theological Seminary in 2004.

He has taught at a Lutheran high school in Rockford, Illinois; been the Headmaster of a Lutheran grade school and the associate pastor at a Zion Lutheran in Kearney Nebraska; and was installed as pastor at Christ the King in Billings, Montana on June 11th, 2006.

Pastor Wendt was married to Sara (Jaschen) on August 1st, 1998 and on October 18th, 2005 the Lord richly blessed them with a son – Samuel Curtis Wendt. Samuel is so named because he is a tremendous blessing that was "asked of the Lord." He was baptized on October 23rd, 2005.

On December 20th, 2007 the Lord blessed them with a daughter – Elizabeth Ann Wendt. Elizabeth means "Oath of God;" she shares her middle name with both of her grandmothers. She was baptized on December 30th, 2007.
